You already know that sodas are filled with sugar, with little nutritional value but with a big count of calories. They can cause weight gain, insulin resistance and inflammation, but what you didn’t know is that these caffeinated drinks that most of us are drinking daily, can lead to gastroesophageal reflux disease.
This is a serious condition that causes the stomach acid to leak back into the esophagus resulting in pain and burning.
In a recent study conducted by The American Journal of Nutrition, researchers found that soda drinkers actually have a higher risk of getting a stroke than non-soda drinkers.
In addition to all these bad things, they also contain a whole lot of artificial colorings and chemicals (which are way too many to list here). So it’s really no surprise to anyone that drinking soda can lead to a higher risk of getting cancer.
